This song was written in 2006 for a film when I was living in the Chicago suburbs, and finally recorded in late 2017.
I learned so much in the long wait of the final recording.
I learned about the "business", a lot of talk and forgotten promises.
Better get that shit in writing, yo. lol.
My guitar teacher helped me record it's first demo, and he taught me about music rights and how to protect my intellectual property. He is also an amazing guitar player- one of my favorites, I'd say.
The film was set in the late 70's, so I wrote this song with the intention of it having a bit of that sound, perhaps a bit of Simon and Garfunkel or Nick Drake. I could say a lot about the writing, but the song has it's moments, just like the journey it took to finally get to here. The final recording comes through the sweet, kick ass studio - King Electric Recording in Austin, TX, and I'm really proud of it, and grateful for this crazy ride.
